Mosaïque cannot wait to invite you to concert so extraordinary, we named it just that! For this Extraordinary program on Thursday, December 14th, Chanda and Deirdre have handed the keys to the madhouse over to the wonderfully talented and creative Trio KlaViS. KlaViS (derived from Klavier, Violine, Saxophon), are known individually as Sabina Hasanova, Jenny Lippl and Miha Ferk, and they are not only performing in but are also curating this month’s concert.
KlaViS have brought together a list of extraordinary musicians who play wonderful, slightly unusual instruments, and/or perform them in original and creative ways, including recorder player Sheng-Fang Chiu, countertenor Nicholas Spanos, soprano Melanie Henley-Heyn, violist Nora Romanoff-Schwarzberg, pianist/vocalist Yu Horiuchi and pianist/composer/comedian Hyung-ki Joo. The eclectic selection of music chosen for this evening's program include works by Krenek, Berio, Schubert, Ferk, Gershwin and Joo.
Additionally you, the audience, are also invited to flaunt your own unique style and explore your inner weirdness. Feel free to dress creatively, bizarrely or just brightly – time to break out that amazing hat you have never had the chance to wear, mix polka dots and plaids or wear your fuzzy slippers outside of the house – or not – whatever makes you feel comfortable and free. We look forward to celebrating the unusual, funky and creative with you and having a whole lot of fun in the process!
The Turnhalle café at Brick-5 will be serving up deliciousness to suit, so if you come early enough to have a bite before the concert begins at 7:30pm you won’t go hungry.
